Widow from the Island - Intro

 My name is Erica, I am a 41 year old widow and have two children Luca and Lottie aged 7 and 4. My partner Julien Desilles, died, aged 40, on the 01/11/20 following a 10 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

The name of the blog comes from Julien's surname, which means From the Islands in French. I also live in England which is an island, so thought the name was fitting. I am originally from Brazil but have lived in England for 21 years. I feel that it may help me navigate grief better if I can put into words what is been happening to us.
